Grow Systems Overview
Aeroponics
A highly pressurized spray of micro droplets highly charged with oxygen.
These systems are usually bare root systems, but can be used with different
media. 24 hour system.
Blumäts
Blumats are a drip watering system best sutied for soil that functions
on the basis of water pressure. A Tropf-Blumat ( "tropf" =
drip) consists of a ceramic sensor and watering head [click here] fitted
with
a membrane.
The membrane is set in motion by subpressure, it opens and thereby stops
the passage of water with a squeeze valve. This subpressure, the so-called
suction tension, develops in dry soil. The Tropf-Blumat works on the
tensiometer principle; it uses the same process as professional tensiometers.
Closet
Type Systems
These systems are self-contained packages that either fit in a closet
or are manufactured as with a closet type enclosure including everything
you
need to get started with indoor gardening.
Deep
Flood
A reservoir with a propagation tray which is always fully flooded and
constantly recirculating. The system pulls in oxygen to keep the
solution charged. This
is one of the newest methods availible.
Drip
Irrigation
Top water system which has a res on the bottom and a propagation
tray on top and the pump ones a water line to each plant. You can
run the
pump 24
hours or any schedule you desire. The systems come as small as
a one plant to multi plant systems.
EBB & Flow
EBB & Flow is the same as fill and drain. It has a res on the bottom
and a propigation tray on top. A pump floods the propagation
tray three or four times per day. This is one of the most common and easiest
to use.
Hydro
For Hunger
Here we feature The Sunleaves Garden of Ease, the current product
in the Hydro For Hunger drive. 5% of the procedes from this
versatile, affordable,
hydroponics system is donated to the teaching of hydroponic
growing methods to underdeveloped countries.
Luwasa
Garden
The Luwasa Garden, available in 3 sizes, is a stagnant, non-circulating,
modular hydroponic growing system with a water level indicator.
The Luwasa Garden works excellent with houseplants. The Water
Level indicator
means
you never over or under water your plants, even on vacation.
You can water your plants less frequently with the Luwasa
Garden, every
2 -
3 weeks.
N.F.T.
Nutrient Film Technique is a thin layer of water running
along the bottom of a channel or tray that constantly recirculates.
This is
one of the best
systems for lettuce and herb growers. 24 hour system.
Rotating
Gardens
Rotating gardens are constructed in a circular manner with
the plants rotating around a centrally located lamp.
Watering methods
and benefits
of rotating
gardens vary. The plants remain more compact in a rotating
garden than in the other systems.
Wick
Systems
Wick systems work by delivering nutrients to the roots
through absortion by a wick, much like an old kerosine
lamp. The
water is poured into
a reservoir where it is aerated and absorbed.
Carts & Shelves
The Garden Cart is cable of holding all of your growing
and propagating equipment plus lighting!
Accessories
Fill and drain kits, grow bags, plant markers, pots,
polywool, covers, saucers, propagation trays, reservoirs,
etc.
